From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sagamore is a grand Victorian era hotel located on the heart of Lake George in Bolton Landing, New York. Since 1883 it has been a summer destination for the families of New England's wealthy and influential. Perched on the mouth of The Narrows on Lake George its natural beauty and tranquility draw visitors right through the peak fall foliage season.

The resort occupies a private island (Green Island) on Lake George. The heart of the of the resort is the Historic Hotel, with rooms and suites, many overlooking the lake. Most of the food and beverage outlets are located in this building, as are the spa and fitness center. More modern structures surround the Historic Hotel, including the Lodges (rooms and condominiums), Hermitage (suites) and Conference Center. The Castle is a unique feature, but they only rarely make it available to rent.

Two key features of the Sagamore, in addition to the setting of the Historic Hotel: - The number, variety and quality of dining opportunities - The ready availability of four-season sports and activities. These include watersports like sailing, swimming and fishing; golf (Donald Ross course), tennis, and more.
