[edit] History

The four members of The Royales come from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Three of the members, Kilian Brown, Simon Wisdom, Rupert Carr-Greg were all high school friends and had been in various bands together. Joe Hansen has also been involved in various punk rock bands throughout Melbourne.

Since The Royales' formation in 2006, they have already performed with such Australian acts as Cheesehead, Boogie Van, Deathkillapocalypse, The Eaters, Mum's Brain and DRAM.

After performing one of their songs This is it live on The Flash radio station, the band's popularity grew through word of mouth and visits to their Myspace page.

Their spontaneous success has been likened to that of New Zealand band 5star Fallout.

Their lead guitarist, Joe Hansen, is not to be confused with the bass guitarist of fellow Australian band Grinspoon of the same name.
