The Rooftop Singers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rooftop Singers was a progressive folk rock band formed in 1962. The group was composed of Erik Darl and Bill Svanoe (vocals, guitar) with former jazz singer Lynne Taylor (vocals). The group was best known for its 1963 one-hit wonder Walk Right In, an uptempo cover of a 1920s Gus Cannon folk song which used two twelve-string guitars playing exactly the same notes in unison.[citation needed] The Rooftop Singers split up in 1967.
