The Robot Ate Me is an American Indie rock band. The band is the brainchild of songwriter Ryland Bouchard, owner of Swim Slowly records, who began the band on his own in San Diego in 2002 and was joined by David Greenberg on drums and RJ Hoffman on bass and violin. In 2005, Bouchard moved to Anacortes, Washington then, in 2006, moved to Portland, Oregon and toured solo under the name The Robot Ate Me.
