The Ring 3 is an upcoming scheduled third installment in The Ring series. It is currently in production and scheduled to be released 2007 by DreamWorks and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It will be a prequel to The Ring. Most likely, the story will be similar to those of "Ringu 0: Birthday"

This movie will take place 30 years prior to The Ring, telling the story of Samara's mother. As it is a prequel to the first two features, it is unlikely that it will star Naomi Watts.
