The Revenge of the Shadow King (2006, ISBN 0-439-79574-5) is the first volume of the Grey Griffins book series written by American authors Derek Benz and J.S. Lewis, and published by Orchard Books, an imprint of Scholastic Inc. The book centers upon the adventures of the Grey Griffins: a secret club of four best friends living in Avalon, Minnesota.

Max Sumner, billionaire sixth grader, and his three best friends Ernie, Natalia, and Harley, stumble upon a Sumner family legacy that changes everything they ever thought or believed in. Suddenly, nothing could be taken for granted: their classmates, their teachers, or even themselves.
Chased by goblins and magical faeries, the Grey Griffins (which is the name of their secret club) must fight their way to solve the mystery that has cast their town and their lives under the great evil of the Shadow King. Along their way, the four friends encounter unlikely allies in the Knights Templar and unforgettable enemies such as the Black Witch: Morgan LaFey.
