The Randy Rhoads Years features a handful of songs from Randy Rhoads' time in Quiet Riot in the 1970s. It features previously-unreleased material and some songs from Quiet Riot's first two albums (which were released only in Japan). However, these songs are not all identical to the versions that appear on the original albums -- on this album, the songs generally have a substantially better sound quality, and some songs have been rearranged. For example, "Last Call For Rock 'N' Roll" appeared as "Mama's Little Angels" on Quiet Riot; the music is basically the same but the lyrics are completely different. This may be seen as a disadvantage if looking for the exact duplicate of the original, or as an advantage if preferring to hear more than one version of the song. In any case, it is definitely worth buying as it showcases some of the things that would later appear on Ozzy Osbourne's first two solo albums, which featured Randy Rhoads as guitarist, and also exhibits the differences in style between his work with both bands.
