The Queensland Orchestra

The Queensland Orchestra, was created in 2001 through the merger of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and the Queensland Philharmonic, an independent chamber, ballet and opera orchestra.
The orchestra is funded by private corporations, the state government and the Australian federal government through the Australia Council. Most of the Queensland Orchestras performances take place in Brisbane, although the orchestra tours other parts of the state regularly.
