Since debuting on November 13, 2006, the host of the program has been hosted by former Oklahoma State Cowboys guard and current ESPN college basketball analyst Doug Gottlieb along with ESPN Radio SportsCenter update anchor, Jon Stashower.

The debuting of The Pulse, caused a major shake up in the ESPN Radio lineup, which included cutting three hours of GameNight to make room for The Pulse and having GameNight go on till 2am ET, making it four hours long and also cutting one off of AllNight with Jason Smith, making it four hours long.

Since joining ESPN Radio in September 2003, Gottlieb had co-hosted GameNight along with personalities such as Chuck Wilson, Jeff Rickard, John Seibel and Freddie Coleman. Due to Gottlieb's extensive work for ESPN's college basketball coverage it is expected that fill-in hosts for the program will be ether Jeff Rickard, Freddie Coleman, John Seibel, Amy Lawrence and Ryen Russilo.
