"The Producer" is the fourth episode of Gilligan's Island third season. It first aired in on October 3, 1966.

The castaways perform William Shakespere Hamlet to music for the hollywood producer Harold Hecuba (played by Phil Silvers in hopes of being rescued.

- Is considered to be a fan favorite among Gilligan's Island fans
- Phil Silvers owned part of Gilligan's Island so it was real easy for him to appear.
- Gladdasya Productions only made one other series and that is "The New Phil Silvers Show", when he made the series in 1963 it was in his contract that he could make another series.
- Is listed as the number 3 greatest sitcom episode of all time according to the book Inside TV Land.
- Part of the first song of the episode is featured in the Space Ghost Coast to Coast episode with Bob Denver, Dawn Wells, and Russell Johnson.
- Lyrics to the songs are included in Bob Denver's book "Gilligan Maynard and Me".
