The Price Is Right - LIVE

"The Price Is Right - LIVE" is an American hotel and a casino show that allows thousands of Americans to "Come On Down", play pricing games, and spin the Showcase Showdown wheel for cash and prizes in a live stage version of TV's The Price Is Right.

The Price Is Right was originally created and produced by Bob Stewart of the Mark Goodson - Bill Todman team in the 1950s; the program is presently owned by Fremantle Media. Producer Roger Dobkowitz and Art Director Bente Christianson from the TV "Price" were part of the team at Fremantle to put together this live version of one of the longest running shows in television history. Some of the most show's most popular pricing games, such as Cliff Hangers, Clock Game, Hole in One, Race Game, Plinko, It's in the Bag, and the Big Wheel are all replicated down to the smallest detail.

The TV show's familiar music and sound effects add to the realism, and there are also models who fulfill the "Barker's Beauties" roles. The show is orchestrated under the direction of Andy Felsher ("Card Sharks," "Match Game PM", and son of Family Feud producer Howard) and Cathy Dawson ("Family Feud," "You Bet Your Life," daughter-in-law of actor and game show host Richard Dawson), both veterans of the Mark Goodson game show dynasty. Todd Newton, Marc Summers, JD Roberto, Roger Lodge, Mark L. Walberg and other TV personalities each take turns hosting the show. Randy West, Daniel Rosen, and Dave Walls alternate the announcer role.

Not only do contestants come onto the stage to play the various games as happens in the original television version, but all members of the audience participate as well. Instead of the interview process used to select contestants at the TV show, a modified process is used where the audience members are asked a series of pricing questions. It is the top scorers in both accuracy and speed that "come on down" to play pricing games. In some venues this involves the use of audience response keypads (also used in other game shows including RTL-Harrah's production, Family Feud Live), while in others a pricing game is played at registration prior to the show.

For the two years from 2003 through 2005, the show, through its various venues, gave away close to $2,000,000 in cash and prizes to winners. As of May 2006, the show is currently being performed at Bally's Atlantic City and Bally's Las Vegas. The venues have been held at Harrah's Hotel and Casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Reno, Nevada, North Kansas City, Missouri, Shreveport, Louisiana, and San Diego, California.
