The Plank is a popular 45-minute, 1967 British slapstick comedy. It follows the adventures of two builders who require a floorboard.
It starred Tommy Cooper and Eric Sykes, and had a supporting cast of many other famous comedy actors, including Roy Castle, Jim Dale, Jimmy Edwards, Hattie Jacques, Stratford Johns, Bill Oddie and John Junkin. It was written and directed by Eric Sykes, and produced by Jon Penington. An earlier, slightly longer edit of the film has been released on DVD.
Eric Sykes remade the film for Thames Television in 1979, with Arthur Lowe in the Tommy Cooper role.
