The Pink Panther Show

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pink Panther Show is a showcase of DePatie-Freleng Enterprises animated cartoons from the 1960s and 1970s, prominently by David H. DePatie and Friz Freleng. The television series was produced by Mirisch Films and DePatie-Freleng Enterprises, aired from 1969 to 1979 on NBC, and appeared on ABC the following year as The All-New Pink Panther Show. Doug Goodwin composed the show's theme music, and this show was hosted by The Pink Panther cartoon character and The Inspector. Each show included new bridging sequences featuring the Pink Panther and The Inspector together. From Pink Panther cartoons gags would be lifted and it would be dubbed with up beat music and a narrator Marvin Miller asked the Panther questions the Panther didn't answer or the narrator described his actions.

Over its nine years at NBC and other networks, The Pink Panther Show had a variety of names:

  • The Pink Panther Show (1969-1970; also considered the umbrella title of the series)
  • The Pink Panther Meets the Ant and the Aardvark (1970-1971)
  • The New Pink Panther Show (1971-1974)
  • The Pink Panther and Friends (1974-1976)
  • The Pink Panther Laugh and a Half Hour and a Half Show (1976-1977)
  • Think Pink Panther (1977-1978)
  • The All New Pink Panther Show (1978-1979)
