THE PEDESTRIAN (1951) In this Ray Bradbury story, we encounter Mr. Leonard Mead, a stranger to his world of A.D.2053. In the city, crime is down, so much so that it has cut its police force down to one car. One moonlit November evening, Mead decides to go for his usual evening walk. In the middle of his walk, however, he encounters the only police car in the entire city. Despite his protests, the car, which is now robotic, decides to take him to a mental institution.
