A Civil War Confederate soldier, walking home after the end of the war, stops off at a local farmhouse. He talks to the war widow and some of the soldiers passing by the house, Yankee and Confederate, and it dawns on us that the ones passing by are those who had died in the war. The war widow refused to accept the fact that she had died during the war until she is greeted by another passerby, Abraham Lincoln, the last casualty of the Civil War.
