The Palazzo Las Vegas is a 643-foot (196-m), 53-story extension of The Venetian and Sands Expo complex on the famed Las Vegas Strip that is currently under construction. Owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corp., it has an expected completion date of mid-2007.

The $1.6 billion resort will feature a Lobby where guests from the street will arrive under a 60-foot 18–m) glass dome with a two story fountain. Those approaching from The Venetian will make the transition through a towering octagonal structure, itself topped by a glass and iron dome. Visitors to the Palazzo using the underground parking will take elevators or escalators from the underground garage and land in the center of the property's planned casino.

Some features Include:

  • 3,025 suites
  • 375 concierge-level suites and six villas with up to 11,000 square feet each
  • 105,000 foot² (9,754 m²) casino with 2,000 slot machines and 80 table games.
  • An extension of the Grand Canal Shoppes
  • A theater
  • A spa
  • An underground parking garage

When finished, the Venetian, the Palazzo, and the Sands Expo will be the largest resort and hotel complex in the world. The 105,000 sq. ft. casino will feature over 1,900 slot machines and 80 table games.

The Palazzo, along with the Cosmopolitan resort, are the first of Las Vegas's new generation of full service ultracompact resorts. Both of these resorts, due to limited land, will feature an underground parking garage over which the hotel itself will be built.

As of Feb 27, 2006, the project has been under construction for over a year. Most of that time was spent digging the 8 story deep hole to put in the underground parking structure. Now the building itself is gradually rising upwards.

As of November 2006, the hotel tower has reached the 35th floor. The ground floors, including the parking garage and shopping center are well under way.
