The Other Side of the Mirror is the fourth solo album of Stevie Nicks. Released in 1989, it bases its theme on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and has Stevie and her back up singers posing in a variety of Alice-esque themed costumes in the cover art. Recorded in The Netherlands, Buckinghamshire, England, and Los Angeles, it hit Number 10 on the U.S. Billboard album charts, propelled by the single "Rooms on Fire" (no.16). It went platinum in the U.S., and one of its most notable achievements is that it is the highest charting album Stevie has ever had in the UK, (no.3) and spawned her first ever top 40 UK single with "Rooms On Fire". Her first, and so far last, tour of the UK and Europe, (Sweden, France and The Netherlands) followed the album as well as a tour of the U.S.

[edit] The Songs
- Juliet - Was considered for Fleetwood Mac's Tango in the Night , but ultimately was not selected; however, the instrumental Version 'Book of Miracles' was released as a b-side to the 'Seven Wonders' single in 1987.
The album also features Bruce Hornsby on two tracks - "Two Kinds of Love" (sharing lead vocals with Nicks) and also on backround vocals and keyboards on 'Juilet'.
[edit] Album Recepion
The album was well received superficially, but is generally set aside as an album for more devoted fans as it is not her strongest work, producing only one successful single, despite the songs "Whole Lotta Trouble" and "Two Kinds of Love" being released worldwide. This is due to her dependency on Klonopin that she suffered during the years 1987 to 1993, which dulled her creativity considerably and even drove her to complete seclusion for a period during the mid-90s while she regenerated herself physically and mentally. She has mentioned that she often cannot recollect much of the years in which The Other Side of the Mirror was written.
