The Order of the Black Venus (OBV) was founded on 30th of April 2000 to unite all branches of satanism that do not encourage actions against the law or the welfare of other living beings. OBV is a neutral and democratic organization that invites it's members to speak their minds in matters such as informing the public about their philosophy. Members of the Order find that it is the lack of information that causes people to commit crimes under the name of Satanism.
[edit] History
November 1997 Jason, leader of the OBV and a follower of Anton Szandor LaVey took the first steps towards legalizing Satanism in Estonia. The reputation of the religion was negative, because of a lack of common knowledge and acts of cruelty committed in the name of Satan.
2001 Letters were sent to people who had shown interest and everybody who wanted to be in the founding body was asked to reply and describe their visions concerning the OBV. The most competent replies were picked out and their authors invited to a meeting of the founding body in a bar in Tallinn where the first priorities of the congregation were decided.
30th of April 2001 The founding body met again and it was officially decided to create the first Estonian Satanic congregation, The Order of The Black Venus. Initially there were 14 members, who all signed the protocol of the constitutive meeting.
The next step taken by the members was the notarial confirmation of the Constitution, and if the constitutive meeting protocol. They also had to file these things to the Ministry of Interior for registering the congregation.
At that time the OBV was signaled from different reliable sources that the government disapproved of such organizations. Estonian Security Police Board started an investigation on everybody connected to the OBV.
November 2001 the OBV published Anton Szandor Lavey's “The Satanic Bible” in Estonian. It was popular and successful with only a few stores refusing to sell it. Apart from that, the popularity of the book showed that the Estonian people were interested in Satanism.
26th of February 2002 An improved application was sent to the Ministry of Interior.
December 2003 Satan Speaks! was published in Estonian by the OBV.
2006 In Estonia, the OBV is still operating but the government has not approved them or Satanism.
