"The One With Rachel's Crush" is the thirteenth episode of season four of the television situation comedy Friends.
First aired: January 29, 1998
[edit] Plot
After her department is eliminated, Rachel finds herself demoted to personal shopping, "a huge step down" in her career. Rachel is just about to quit after helping an 81-year-old woman try on a thong, but she changes her mind when she sees that the newly divorced and very cute Joshua is her next client. Rachel desperately wants to ask him out on a date and turns to Phoebe after revealing that she has never asked anyone out on a date before. Phoebe gives her some tips, but Rachel doesn't quite get the response she was hoping for.
As the gang begins hanging out more and more in her old apartment (which Joey and Chandler won in "The One With the Embryos"), Monica misses her role as hostess and decides to remodel the guys' old apartment so that it will be "ten times better." By the time she is done, she is too tired to enjoy the fruits of her labor.
Chandler is concerned that Kathy is having an affair with her play's co-star, Nick. When Joey tells him how to figure out if she's cheating on him, Chandler's reaction jeopardizes the relationship.
