The Oaken Throne is the second book in the Deptford Histories Trilogy by Robin Jarvis (first published in 1993).
Set hundreds of years before the Deptford Mice Trilogy, The Oaken Throne tells the tale of the squirrel-maiden Ysabelle, who is destined to be the Starwife. When she meets Vespertilio, a young bat, the two are swept along on a nightmarish journey to save their kind from destruction.
