The Nutters was a two page comic strip in the UK comic Cracker. It first appeared in issue 1, dated 18 January 1975. Percy Potters, railway man at Nether Wallop train station, had a family of squirrels lodging in his garden. Annoyed by this, he forever tried to get rid of them, but never succeeded. They nicknamed him 'Fuzzface' Potters, due to his beard. It ran until Cracker's final issue (87, dated 11 September 1976) and was drawn throughout by John Geering.
The strip was later reprinted for about half a year in The Dandy, from issue 3244 (dated 24 January 2004) onwards. The original art was reframed, computer coloured, and new speech bubbles were added. These changed Percy Potters' name to Wilfred Winterbottom (leading the squirrels to adopt a variety of new nicknames for him, such as 'Autumnbuttocks') and more cultural references were put in, such as emails and Xboxes.
