The Newbeats

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Newbeats were a popular music vocal trio best known for their 1964 hit "Bread and Butter." The group's members were Larry Henley and brothers Dean and Mark Mathis.

"Bread and Butter" was the group's first hit. Three more followed in 1964 and 1965:

  • "Everything's Alright"
  • "Break Away (From That Boy)"
  • "Run Baby Run (Back Into My Arms)"

They had no further hits before disbanding in 1974. Larry Henley is probably now best known as the author of Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings."
