The house standing on the plot now is an early Georgian house that was built in 1753. This house was later bought by The Marquis de Lis. The Marquis' emblem of the Fleur de Lis was later incorparated into the crest of the French royal family. When he bought it he had a Gothic facade put on the front and the sides of the building.
