The Myer Centre is between the Queen Street Mall and Elizabeth Street in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. A Myer store originally extended from Queen Street to Adelaide Street, from the early 1900's, before The Myer Centre shopping complex opened in March 1988.
The Myer Centre is a large shopping complex which includes Queensland's largest Myer department store, Coles Supermarket, Target discount department store, an ABC Shop, an Australian Geographic shop, Lowes Menswear, Best and Less, newspaper shops, pharmacies, food court (including Starbucks), book shops, computer shops, a board game and puzzle store, an ezydvd shop, Electrical goods stores, a shaver shop, and souvenir shops etc. There is a Sizzler restaurant underground on the Elizabeth St side of The Myer Centre.
There are four levels of car park, as well as the Queen Street Bus Station.
There is also a large cinema complex on the fourth floor , which was built after the area, originally used as a fun park called 'tops' was closed down and demolished in the late 1990's, with the fun park parts sold off. The fun park comprised of various small shops, an amusement centre, a 'swing ship', a 'dragon train' and a 'ferris wheel', etc. When they were operating, screams of excitement, and/or terror, could be heard from the patrons of both the swing ship and the dragon train.
The Myer Centre is open to the public seven days a week.
