[edit] Song information
The Music's No Good Without You was written, recorded and released in 2001. The song was meant to follow the same success as Believe had previously achieved, but the only success that it received was from outside the United States.
The song was internationally released in 2001. It managed to become a top ten hit in the UK and other European countries while everywhere else it became either a top 20 hit or a top 40 hit. World wide speaking the song was a hit peaking at number 10 on the United World Chart.
In the United States the album Living Proof wasn't released until February 2002 and its lead off single was Song for the Lonely. By the time The Music's No Good Without You was released as a single in the United States, Cher was already on tour and because of this the single struggled from a lack of promotion. The song failed to gain any radio airplay and only managed to peak the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play at number 19.
[edit] Music video
The video for The Music's No Good Without You follows the concept of the lyrics of the song. In the music video Cher is an outer space queen whom is sad because her lover has left her. Throughout the whole video she writes a letter to him claiming that she knows he doesn't need her anymore. In the end she places the letter in an empty bottle and sends it floating into space. In the end it appears that this had not been the first letter that she had sent to him because there are dozens of bottles floating in space.
A remix video was made for the The Music's No Good Without You (Almighty Mix). What was strange about this was that it was not made by Dan-O-Rama who has made every remix video for Cher, instead the video was made by Warner Bros.
In 2001 the video for The Music's No Good Without You was commercially released in the UK on a box set which included the video in PAL format, the song and 3 promotional pictures.
