The Mullanes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Mullanes was the first incarnation of Australasian rock group Crowded House; the name was taken from the maiden name of the mother of the group's leader, Neil Finn, Mullane is also Finn's middle name.
The original 4-piece lineup included Craig Hooper (ex The Reels) but he left just before the band went to Los Angeles to record their first album in 1986, at which time they changed their name to Crowded House.
The only song known to come from the era of The Mullanes is "Recurring Dream". This song was issued as a 12" promo single in the USA to promote the soundtrack to "Tequila Sunrise" in 1988 which starred Mel Gibson. It also appeared on the Crowded House album "Afterglow" in 1999.
