The Monitor (Uganda)

The Monitor and Sunday Monitor are national newspapers in Uganda. In contrast to the state-owned New Vision, the paper has complete editorial independence and is often critical of the government and President Yoweri Museveni. The Nairobi-based Nation Media Group owns 60% shareholding in Monitor Publications Limited. The Nation Media Group publish also the Daily Nation, a prominent newspaper in Kenya.
