The McMahons is the name of a heel professional wrestling tag team in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) consisting of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and his son Shane McMahon. However, the name is often used when any members of the McMahon family group together.

[edit] History

Thougn Vince and Shane had teamed up before on previous occasions, it wasn't until 2006 when the pair became a regular tag team. The team formed when Shane returned to aid his father's feud with Shawn Michaels. Shane appeared on RAW to force Michaels join Vince's "kiss my ass club" and went on to face Michaels in a street fight at Saturday Night Main Event and, in a fashion similar to the Montreal Screwjob, Shane put Michaels in the Sharpshooter as Vince called for the bell, giving Shane the victory.

The McMahons' feud with Michaels took a religious turn after Wrestlemania 22, when Vince, claiming that Michaels' victory was a result of "divine intervention", booked himself and his son in a match at Backlash against Shawn Michaels and his tag team partner, "God". Around this time, Vince began to act strangely, and at one point considered himself a God. Shane teamed with Vince to defeat Shawn Michaels and God at Backlash, due to help from the Spirit Squad, a team of male cheerleaders whom the McMahons had recently encouraged to join with them.

This feud later developed to also involve Triple H, who turned away from the McMahons and Spirit Squad, blaming them for his inability to take the WWE Championship from John Cena. Triple H attacked Shane with his sledgehammer, in a move that put Shane out of the ring for a while. Triple H began a feud with the McMahons shortly after, leading to his siding with Shawn Michaels as well as the reformation of D-Generation X (DX).

Vince booked a match for Vengeance 2006 on June 25, 2006, where DX defeated the Spirit Squad in a 5-on-2 handicap match. Vince also booked a match at another Saturday Night Main Event on July 15, 2006 in a 5-on-2 elimination match, where DX were again victorious. This frustrated the McMahons to a point where Vince made a match at SummerSlam 2006 between himself and Shane against DX. Despite interference from various heels including the Spirit Squad, Mr. Kennedy, Finlay, William Regal, Big Show and Umaga, DX were again victorious.

The McMahons then recruited Big Show to join their force against DX. Vince booked a match at Unforgiven 2006 on September 17, 2006, where he teamed up with his Shane and Big Show to take on DX in a 3-on-2 handicap Hell in a Cell match. At Unforgiven 2006, DX defeated the McMahons and Big Show, and embarassed Vince by putting his face in Big Show's backside.
