Struggling to come to terms with his new career as a security guard, He is convinced by his wife Kate to take a trip to the mountains of South Carolina. They stop at a gas station where they are caught in a gunbattle between a criminal gang and police officers. Injuring the officers, The criminals kidnap his wife and make their escape. Commandering the police car, Triton gives chase.

[edit] Trivia
- The script for The Marine was originally written for Stone Cold Steve Austin to play the lead role of John Triton. After Austin and WWE parted ways in 2004 Kurt Angle was considered for the role, which was eventually given to John Cena.
- The film was originally planned for a January or February 2006 release, then moved to Spring 2006, then to September 8 (which was changed because The Rock's newest movie, Gridiron Gang was released September 15), and finally October 13.
- John Cena did all of his stunts[2]
- Was actually shot and completed in 2004.
- While John Cena was away from SmackDown! shows to film the movie, the television storylines suggested that Cena was away recovering from being stabbed at a night club. The storyline was so that Carlito had his enforcer, Jesus, attack Cena.
- In the film Robert Patrick is driving the car and the man in the back seat says "This guy's like the Terminator." This is a reference to Robert Patrick's character in the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day where he played the evil T-1000.
- About 12 Minutes into the movie the skyline of Calgary, Alberta is clearly visible, even though the film is set in South Carolina. The filming was done in Queensland, Australia.
- "If It All Ended Tomorrow", a track in Cena's album You Can't See Me, was used in the ending credits.
