The Main Ingredient is the 2nd album by Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Released in late 1994.
It would become their last album since, at the time of writing, the pair have relinquished their plans of a reunion. At the time of its release they were poised to crossover into the mainstream charts, having garnered mass acclaim with this LP as well as the previous, Mecca and the Soul Brother. The Keni Burke sampling "Take You There" was the album's lead off single, followed by 12" remixes of the cuts "I Got A Love" and "Searching".
