The Little Mermaid (video game)

The Little Mermaid is the title of a video game for the NES published by Capcom. It is loosely based on the Disney film of the same name and is a single player, side-scrolling game where you control the heroine on a quest to defeat the evil sea queen. A version of the game was also released for the Sega Mega Drive.

The gameplay is similar to other Capcom games such as Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales in that Ariel shoots air bubbles from her tail that when they hit certain enemies can be pick up and thrown at other enenemies or bosses. Ariel can also collect icons scattered throughout the levels to restore health, gain extra lives, or increase the range/power of her air bubbles.
