The Listening
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Listening is a band hailing from the sleepy mill-town of Longview, Washington and is comprised of members Gabriel Wilson (vocals, guitars), Chris Greely (guitars, vocals), Eric Lemiere (drums, vocals, keys), and Josiah Sherman (moog synths, key bass, rhodes, samples, keys). They erupted on the scene in early 2005 with a sound reminiscent of Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Air, and Sigur Ros. The band released "The Listening LP" in early 2006 independently, gathering many favorable reviews from press internationally. Performances in Russia, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, and the UK, as well as multiple tours of the U.S. have bolstered their favor among fans.
Known for their ambitious live shows, the members of The Listening are also known to produce albums for other artists. Most notable are "The Glitter Twins", the production team of Wilson/Greely with additional help from other reputable Longview, WA talent. Recent projects include the Vancouver BC band Whitfield (Well Behaved and Working for You, 2006) and Long Beach, CA's own Violet Burning (Drop Dead, 2006).
