The League of Revolutionary Black Workers

The League of Revolutionary Black Workers was formed in an attempt to organize Black workers as the leading revolutionary vanguard. The organization was originally formed as a result of the Black Liberation Movement. The organization was centered on Detroit's auto industry. The main goal was to play an important role in the liberation of Black people in the U.S. However, they also wanted to do all they could to help oppressed people throughout the world, regardless of skin color or race. They were dedicated in struggling against such things as imperialism, capitalism, and especially racism. The League consisted of a wide variety of blacks; it consisted of those who were both employed and unemployed, students, intellectuals and even the Black youth. Their main goal was to change the racist unions which were currently in place and insert themselves into these unions and be able to have their own fair say in the union.
