[edit] Song information
It was released as the fourth single from Unison in Canada (May 1991), and third in the rest of the world (June 1991 in United States; September 2, 1991 in Australia, Japan, and Europe). In United Kingdom it was the second commercial single, because "(If There Was) Any Other Way" was issued as a promotional release only.
B-side included "Unison," which was released as a single in Canada and Japan only.
"The Last to Know" was previously recorded by Sheena Easton in 1987.
There were three different cover art works of the single: Céline sitting on a chair (United States version), wearing jeans on European edition, and face of Céline Dion on Australian cover.
The music video was directed by Dominic Orlando and was shooted in Hollywood, U.S. (1991).
[edit] Chart success
The song reached #17 on Canadian singles chart and #13 on Contemporary Hit Radio Top 40 Chart. "The Last to Know" had also moderate success on Billboard Adult Contemporary chart in United States, peaking at #22.
