[edit] Synopsis
The Last Wagon is a tale about Comanche Todd, a white man, raised as a Comanche, enroute to his murder trial for killing the three white men that murdered his squaw wife and sons. When an Apache raid attacks the wagon train he is traveling in and kills everyone, except him and a group of young people out midnight swimming, "Comanche Todd" finds he is resented by some members of the surviving party. Brother and sister Billy and Jenny accept him without question and trust him to lead them to safety, but Todd must choose between the freedom that fortune has handed him and delivering the youths safely home, amidst an Apache uprising that has surrounded them.
