The most popular kid in school, Hart Evans, has just moved up and is already in trouble. Hart accidentally shoots a rubber band at Mr. Meinert, the chorus teacher, and makes him so angry that he quits his position. Hart is elected the new manager of the play, but most of his friends quit because he is starting to act like a teacher. Hart has to have a talk with Meinert for the concert to go on. In the end Mr. Meinert has to leave anyway because of budget cuts.
