The Krytos Trap (1996) is the third novel in the Star Wars: X-wing series. It was written by Michael A. Stackpole.
The Krytos Trap focuses on three key events, the first being the New Republic's attempts to deal with the Empire's crippling bio-attack on Coruscant. The virus used in the attack is the Krytos virus, ordered by Imperial leader Ysanne Isard and developed by General Evir Derricote. The virus attacks only non-human species. This, combined with Imperial Intelligence officer Kirtan Loor's terrorist activities in conjunction with his Palpatine Counterinsurgency Front, leaves Coruscant and the New Republic in a state of disarray.
The second event is the treason trial of Rogue Squadron executive officer Tycho Celchu, who is suspected in the supposed murder of Rogue Squadron pilot Corran Horn.
Meanwhile, Corran Horn has been captured by Isard, and is being held prisoner in her Lusankya prison facility. His attempts to escape lead him to uncover the secret of Rogue Squadron's mole, and it becomes a race against time to save the innocent and reveal the true traitor.
