[edit] Storyline
As the Japan Team (Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, Goro Daimon) defeated the evil Rugal Bernstein, Rugal blew himself on his airship, and was deemed dead. One year passed, and almost all the teams of the previous tournament received an invitation to the new King of Fighters tournament. However, the American Team would not compete, instead being replaced by a whole new team, made of Billy Kane, Geese Howard's personal bodyguard, swearing revenge against the Lonely Wolves, Eiji Kisaragi, a ruthless ninja assassin bearing a strong feeling of revenge against the Kyokugenryu, and a mysterious young man known as Iori Yagami, who plans to kill the champion of the past tournament, Kyo Kusanagi. This new team, along with all previous teams, will compete once again in 1995. But one mystery was still unsolved: The invitations were marked with a familiar "R" letter. Could that R be Rugal?
