The Jawa Report

The Jawa Report is a conservative news blog which focuses a great deal of attention on terrorist issues and how they relate to radical Islam. The site provides news stories which are given little press in the mainstream media. The Jawa Report has been the subject of a controversial dispute with the Google news search engine over censorship which has raised questions about the nature of Google's policies toward conservative web sites.[1]
The site is frequently cited by conservative American author and news analyst Michelle Malkin on her internet blog.
According to Alexa traffic ranking the site ranks in the top 10,000 internet sites on the web.[2]

The site is named after the Jawas, a quasi-humanoid species described in the Star Wars science fiction saga that live on the planet Tatooine and that make up a society based on scavenging through the desert looking for discarded scraps.

In March 2005, Rusty Shackleford, the owner of The Jawa Report, was informed by Google that the Jawa Report would no longer be included in Google News. Google stated “Upon recent review, we've found that your site contains hate speech, and we will no longer be including it in Google News.” This development brought further attention to internet censorship and was widely discussed on numerous blogs [3]. Eventually Google reversed it's position and it was reinstated on Google News.
