The Ivy Club

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ivy Club, founded in 1879, was the first eating club at Princeton University. The members of each class are selected through bicker, a series of interviews followed by discussions amongst the members.

The Club is described by F. Scott Fitzgerald in This Side of Paradise as "breathlessly aristocratic." In addition to offering meals to its members and functioning as a social facility, Ivy serves an academic role in the university community. Undergraduate members also host regular "Roundtable Dinners" featuring talks by faculty and alumni.
