The Island (film) (1980)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Island is an adventure-horror-thriller with Michael Caine and David Warner (actor). Directed by Michael Ritchie. Based on a book written by Peter Benchley who is also known for the books Jaws and The Deep. (He was also involved in the production of The Island.)

The Island takes place in the Caribbean where reporter Caine and his son meet a gang of barbaric pirates who seem to be living in the past.

Like most books of Benchley's novels, this one also takes place on the ocean.

The Island is considered more violent than Jaws and The Deep.
