The Husband's Message
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Husband's Message is an Anglo-Saxon poem from the Exeter Book, which is often read as a companion piece to The Wife's Lament. Spoken by what appears to be the message itself, carved upon a stave, the poem may well be riddlic in nature, as is indicated by the runic clues at the end of the piece. The solution has been proposed variously as either 'Christ' or 'The Gospel'.
