"The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game" is a 1967 single by Motown Records girl group The Marvelettes, from their self-titled album of the same year. It was written by Smokey Robinson, and reached number two on the Billboard R&B chart.
The song has been covered by a number of contemporaneous and more recent recording artists, including Ella Fitzgerald in 1969. Jerry Garcia performed it in 1974 as "When the Hunter Gets Captured by the Game". Later versions include those by Grace Jones on Warm Leatherette (1980), also released as a single; Blondie, on The Hunter (1982); and Massive Attack, with Tracey Thorn on vocals, on the Batman Forever soundtrack (1996).
