The Honorary Title is an indie pop band composed of Jarrod Gorbel (Vocals, Guitar), Aaron Kamstra (Bass, Keyboards, Backing Vocals), John Wiley (Guitar), and Adam Boyd (Drums). Boyd, former touring drummer for The Format, is now the full time drummer for The Honorary Title. Their influences include Bright Eyes, Jeff Buckley, Ani DiFranco and Goo Goo Dolls(Citation needed).

Their first release was a self-titled EP that featured two songs they would later go on to reuse in their next album. They received much attention and did major touring after they released a full length album on Doghouse Records in 2004 entitled Anything Else But the Truth. It was recorded in Nashville and New York with producer Roger Moutenot who has also worked with Yo La Tengo and Guster. Videos are available for the singles "Everything I Once Had", "Bridge and Tunnel", & "Frame by Frame".

The Honorary Title is releasing a new album in 2007 which was recorded during the summer of 2006 in California.
