The Hits was the second compilation album and first and only greatest hits album from American Country Music artist Garth Brooks. It was released on December 13, 1994 by Capitol Records. It was quickly deleted at Brooks' request (he insisted it only be available for a limited time), but not before it sold well over ten million copies. It reached #1 on the Billboard Country music charts and #1 on the Billboard's Pop chart. It was also a huge success in other countries. It topped the pop charts Ireland where Brooks was now a household name. It also topped the country charts in Great Britain and reached #11 in the pop charts there.
