The Hit List is the seventh album by the San Diego, California rock band Unwritten Law, scheduled to be released on January 2, 2007 by Middle Finger Records. It is a "best of" album that includes new studio recordings of 17 of the band's earlier songs as well as the new songs "Shoulda Known Better" and "Oblivion." The songs have all been re-recorded by the current lineup of the band, and official announcements have indicated that many of the new versions will differ somewhat significantly from the originals, particularly tracks 12-19 which are songs from the band's 1990s albums (their lineup at the time of the original recordings consisted of a different bass player and drummer, as well as a second guitarist).
