The Hideout will begin a series of test shows on their former station, WJFK 106.7 Washington DC, starting on December 4th 2006. Prior to broadcasting in Florida, the duo hosted and produced radio shows in Michigan and Washington D.C.

The inception of the show began in Lansing, Michigan at 92.1 The Edge, a station which has since changed from its new rock format. It was there that Jefe and JDubs first met; Jefe just out of Texas Tech University and Dubs an intern from Specifications Howard School of Broadcasting Arts. The two found chemistry quickly along with their friend Shaffee. Shaffee hosted a show called The Skankshift which Jefe and Dubs often appeared on and contributed bits to. Despite the fact that Shaffee had the highest ratings in the history of the Lansing market, he was fired along with Jefe and Dubs in July of 2002.

Jefe would soon take a board-op position at 106.7 WJFK-FM in Washington, D.C. He quickly befriended program director Cameron Gray, and after months of prodding, convinced him to hire JDubs. It was at this time that Jefe was working as a gofer for a number of shows on the station including The Ron and Fez Show and The Don and Mike Show. Dubs began working as co-producer of Ron and Fez alongside Wonderboy.

Jefe's friendship with Gray proved valuable as he managed to convince him to give Dubs and him a chance to do a Saturday night show on the station. Cameron liked his reach-around technique, and soon thereafter the first episode of "El Jefe's Hideout" premiered on March 22, 2003. The show soon added a third co-host, Spoon, another employee of WJFK, to give the show a local voice. Spoon later left, and fan-turned-producer Tommy Bateman joined the show. The show was constantly changing time slots until they finally settled into a regular weekend air time of 7-11 p.m..

It was at this time that The Ron and Fez Show held the "St. Pat's Spat," a live appearance to feature boxing matches between various station members, including one bout between Jefe and Dubs. Both agreed that if JDubs won, they would rename the show to "The Hideout". The taller JDubs won the fight with Jefe barely putting up a fight and the show became The Hideout.

El Jefe -- Co-host and handles most of the show structure, including going in and out of breaks, controlling the direction and flow of bits, and setting everything up so listeners know what is happening. A graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Communications, Jefe moved to Lansing, Michigan, where he met JDubs and would later move with him to D.C. to form the beginnings of The Hideout.

JDubs (AKA Justin Johnson) -- Co-host and handles most of the comedy and jokes on the show, and rarely afraid to say something incredibly disturbing or offensive, often leading to Jefe pressing the dump button. A graduate of Spec Howard's School of Broadcasting, started as an intern who worked with Jefe and Shaffee at stations in Lansing, Michigan. Most known for pushing the homo-erotic side show, he also is the only member of the show with a girlfriend, who lives with him and followed him to both D.C. and Orlando, and is deathly afraid of both white condiments and young children. His name comes from the fact that when Jefe first met him, he thought he looked like a white Jay-Z.

Tommy Bateman -- is the producer of The Hideout who began his involvement as a crass caller when the show was on Saturday nights. He is named after the character Patrick Bateman in the film American Psycho.

Chunks is the executive producer for The Hideout. When not working on material or screening calls, he holds a producer's position, and is the butt of many on-air jokes. Although El Jefe and JDubs often joke about wanting Chunks off the show and dead, he is considered an integral part of the show by fans. In the past, Chunks was also called Alex Corolla, Bennecio and Kevin Rogers. For a short time, he was also known as Sandler.

Matt Albert A.K.A Radio Road Block - This now 22 year-old, 570 lb (259 kg) black non-virgin first became a show regular in the Saturday night show days. His jokes are some of the show's most biting and racist. He did live with his mother in Maryland, but in early 2006 he moved down from Maryland to Orlando, Florida to become a regular member of The Hideout. He is also the only character with an immortal "passholder" membership to the show, making him a regular fixture for all-time.

Hooch - Former Hideout Intern, the first and thus far, only female to be an actual Hideout member. Known for her snotty attitude and the fact she is a "switch hitter." Has a tendency to talk about sex at the most uncalled for times. Has a thing for "brown boys" and hates Wal-Mart and those who shop there.

Putin is an intern named after his resemblance to Vladimir Putin, and for being a communist. He plays Everquest and is a self-proclaimed "dork".

UFO Phil - A discovery of Bateman's, Phil is a guy who believes in good and bad aliens, and will call in regularly to warn people about them. He will often make sure the show can keep a secret, and ask them the password (which is ZAXON) to make sure they are not bad aliens. He is also a George Lucas expert, and often tells the boys about the lunches he has with George when they discuss Star Wars. He is also well known for his alien-related songs including "Aliens Really Stink," "Anakin," and "Secret Alien Hideout."

Tony Piggs - The Hideout sexy engineer, often known for eating turkey legs straight off the bone, yelling at the boys for not cleaning up properly, and just generally being angry.

Maddox - A work-out enthusiast who is always obsessed with pumping-iron with the dudes.

Sir Gary the Prophet - A Real Radio caller for several years, Sir Gary calls in to tell the boys they have a very entertaining, and very informative show. He also likes to talk about his church services on Miller and Dillard Street, and occasionally discusses what he has been doing lately and what he likes to eat. He also calls in to The Hideout to tell what's been going on in the news.

Porno Dan - A porn-producing friend of the show who has brought a number of porn stars into the studio to show off to the boys.

The Almost Intern - A would-be intern that lost his chance of getting an internship due to some academic problems that prevented him from applying through his school (his GPA sucks). he's also the only member of the South Campus Heretics.

Derone - A Jewish comedy teacher, Derone also works on a number of the shows at the Clear Channel Compound. He is known as being asexual and awkward, and admits himself that he knows a lot of women and has a lot of women friends, but is totally unable to form relationships. On one occasion Jefe and Dubs left Derone on the air with just himself and two girls, and that became one of the most awkward moments in the show's history.

Angel - A former board-op for the show, Angel is a Latino who has learned to talk mostly like a caucasian, and is best known for discussing on air how both he and his brother made out with one of their first cousins at a wedding reception. Angel is now on SBK Live on Saturday nights from 7-10 p.m.

Tuddle - AKA, Puss-Bag former board-op/producer for the show who had even visited to D.C. and met the boys long before their move to Florida. Tuddle was also a member of the Drew Garabo show* , the show that had occupied the timeslot on WTKS that The Hideout now occupies, when it was cancelled in early 2005. Tuddle is a member of the Monsters in the Morning on WTKS 104.1 from 6-11 a.m. on WTKS 104.1.

SBK - AKA Soul Brother Kevin, a co-host of the Shannon Burke show on WTKS. SBK has sat in for Dubs on the occasion he has had to go home to Michigan, and also did a few different "Chunks Beatmix Beatdowns" live on the show. He also hosts his on show Saturday nights on Real Radio called, "SBK Live".(Also on WTKS 104.1)

Erica the Promotions Goddess - An employee of Real Radio who works in the promotions department. After Chunks fled to D.C. after being beaten during the hardcore match, she coaxed him to come back by saying she would give him a kiss. When he was getting ready for the kiss, she instead spit in his face and fled the room.

Badmonkey - Former Hideout intern and webmaster of radiohideout.com. Videotaped the stunts and edited them for viewing on the website. Now rarely heard on the Hideout, but still contributing through IM's on occasion. Runs an internet radio station ThereIsNoRadio (formerly known as RadioBBQ) and can be heard on The Asylum and The Badmonkey Show on weekends.

Napier - Hideout intern from Orlando. Also known as "Pillowpants," he was known mostly for his MacGyver-like skills. Once rigged an an entire electric-shocking chair using some wires and a stun gun. Also known for trying to be funny and failing miserably.

ManHole - Hideout Intern from Orlando. Known for having to be dumped after saying non-radio friendly things. During a Slurpee Drinking stunt on 7-11-2006, Manhole pathetically drank Napier's regurgetated slurpee vomit as a plea to change his radio name.

C-Lane - One of the longest running Hideout Interns, C-Lane was mostly known for his technical skills and guitar playing prowess. He is also sometimes heard on The Shannon Burke Show where he plays guitar during the caller song-naming game, "Sing Bitch."

Gazoo - Hideout Intern from Orlando known for his weirdness, drug taking, and just crazy on air personality.

JimmyJam - President and founder of The Heretics, The fan club of The Hideout. Coined the phrase "JimmyJam in the House". Runs www.Hereticshideout.com and is known for his bitting. Likes to be called "The Prez" or "El Presidente".

Nameless - Administrator of www.hideoutheretics.net

Lester Big Hands - One of the main and most loved Heretics. Known for his over the top comments and fast come backs. Got his name for his very large hands and has been known to throw people under the bus.

BongswatMatT - Dubbed "King" of the Heretics by some show members, he is a listener and active heretic since the show moved to Orlando. Has a lot of opinions and IMs the show nightly. Has contributed with a couple live broadcast gigs and a couple stunts on air during the popular Friday night Open Door. Made chunks relive the loss of his favorite video games and challenged heretics El Presidente JimmyJam and Misfitmatt to a Hot pepper eating contest that was held live on air. Enjoys hanging out with the Hideout members after open door and at events.

EJFROMTHEU - Former Miami Hurricane's TE and standout high school player at Cypress Creek. Is bashed for not getting much playing time at Miami because he was playing under Jeremy Shockey, who went on to be the starting TE for the NY Giants. Also is known for wearing his number 84 Miami jersey and two Miami Hurricane’s championship rings religiously.

White Roach - Long time listener of the Hideout. Is more of the laid-back and easy-going poster of the bunch, especially in comparison to others such as HOMOwner and Dopey. Firmly believes that the answer to world peace is through marijuana. His role model in life is Jack Bauer. Believes that all the answers in life come from torturing information out of people. Current base of opereations is in Stafford, Virginia.

PantlessToluBA - Long time listener of the Hideout from its DC days. Originally named Black Albert when the show was in DC, but decieded to change it to PantlessTolu because at college parties he will usually wake up in the morning with no pants on and not remember how they got off. Is a senior at the University of Maryland. Post whore on radiohideout.com and hideoutheretics.net. Also the moderator of the Sports section of hideoutheretics.net. Less active listener now, but listens when he can. Had an alter-ego named Captain Tolu , but he hasn't been heard from in a while.

HOMOwner - The self proclaimed "Elected God of Ass Kickery," this man is quite possibly the biggest forum troll in existence. His typical response to others is, "Go fuck your mother," and more recently "You like to fuck guys." Also he is an avid supporter of abuse towards women and children. He often advocates the punching of women in the ovaries. He also sends some pretty bad IM's to The Hideout which are never read on air.

Fathom Zero - (Entertainment Moderator) Quite possibly the youngest of anybody on the forum, Fathom Zero has been listening for years. Used to live in D.C., but moved to Lawton, OK in August of 2005 because of family. The Hideout gave him something to believe in and was the principal reason he made it through his only depression. Hopes to call in and contribute to the show, yet he doesn't like to use the phone and has an incredibly monotone voice that runs in his family. Inspiration comes sparingly for this Heretic, but when it does, he won't stop until his thoughts are brought to reality. Hates blogs, Youtube, and Myspace.

GrayKat - (Rat Bastard) Clearly one of the most disturbed members of HH.net, GrayKat is also one of the most clever. Like any psycho, his magnetic personality and ability to appear completely normal to others is his snare for capturing prostitutes and other random stragglers. Relays his stories with an obvious enjoyment of his annonymity.

Mims - A Crazy guy from tight-ass ville ( Titusville ) Came up with the official term Radio Road Block. Hates Matt Albert...

TheWildhawke - Known by many aliases, this heretic many times will call in with scathing and many times racially charged comments. He never misses a chance to poke fun at the members of the show. It is rumored that he is the originator of the now world famous. "Thrown over the boat because they couldnt feed them" bit.

Pinchy - A Heretic who listens online and contributes often to the conversations via instant message and on the phones. Is often referred to as "Pinchy from the 440" (Clevland, Ohio).

Bipolar Steve - Another long distance Heretic who, much like Pinchy, contributes via instant messenger and through phone calls.

Vichus Smith - A rare contributer to The Hideout and fan from the D.C. days of the show.

Señor Hamburgler - President of the Jr. Heretics contributes often with jokes to the show (most famous for his dog-rape bit). Also has his own show (http://senorandsword.uni.cc) with Heretic sword.

Sword- A Jr. Heretic that fakes suicidal thoughts and practices child rape. Co-Hosts a show with Señor Hamburgler.

K Rool - Never heard from. Presumed dead.

Stretch Marks - The Unknown Heretic.

Toasty Stuff - Heretic who works at CVS on Kirkman & Conroy & is willing to hook up any friends & heretics with free stuff & discounts.

DeniseThePiece - A herechick. Every time she posts on the forums, it is followed by many posts saying "<3 DTP," much to the dismay of Homowner. This is quite odd, because Homowner is a troll, yet condemns this form of trolling. Many users are surprised that he does not join in on this trolling.
