The Gap State High School is located in the suburb The Gap in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and has a student population of over 800.

The Gap State High School has an excellent academic and sports record.

Gap's $1.1 million Leadership Training Centre is unique in Australia. The facility opened in August 2002 and features 22 adventure courses including indoor rock climbing and bouldering walls used to develop leadership and communication skills as part of The Gap Outdoor Adventure and Leadership Studies (GOALS) program, which is compulsory for all classes. The Leadership Training Centre is open to other schools and the community and has been used by professional athletes and by the Australian Army for cadet training.

There is also a state of the art performing arts centre, which has an auditorium that can house up to 150 students at any one time.

One turf cricket pitch, One concrete cricket pitch, two full size soccer fields, four basketball courts and four tennis courts.

There are currently 860 students and around 50 teachers working at the Gap State high.

  • The School opened on July in 1959.
  • The School's motto is "Ours The Future" which translates to "Creating Future" or "Forging Future Leaders" in recent years due to the fact of our Leadership, Outdoor and Personal Developement Programme.
  • The School's uniform and School's colours are Green, White and Grey.
  • The School has a one of a kind rock climbing centre in Australia called the Leadership Training Centre aka. the LTC which students in years 8-11 use for their GOALS proggramme.
  • The School's Hall is called the "JA Robertson Hall" after Mr Robertson, the founding Principal.
  • The School's Names are Antares, Orion and Rigal. (More information about these houses can be found in the house section of this article.

There are three houses that remain at The Gap State High School, their names are Antares, Orion and Rigal. Students are placed in the same house as their siblings are in. They also have an alphebetical system which means if your last name starts with a certian letter that you will in that certian house. Here as it goes below and the colours will be listed below as well as the last name system.
