The Furor are a Perth, Western Australian Black Metal band formed in September 2002 as the result of the dissolve of drummer/lead vocalist Louis-"Disaster"'s band Pagan and lead guitarist Nick-"Warlock"'s former band Samain. According to Jon-"Kill Machine" he said during an interview with radio station Triple J that the band's lead vocalist at the time didn't turn up for a concert and so they had to make due with having Louis as their vocalist, like any beginner there were mistakes however as time went by the services of their lead vocalist were felt to be no longer needed and Louis then received the full time roll of drumming and vocals. The Furor themselves do not have a record contract and are regarded as an underground metal band however their genre selection of black metal is uncommon to a city like Perth which makes them out to be a rare kind of band within the city.

The band recorded their first unreleased 5 track demo "Kult" during the same year of 2002 until they realised they might be in need of a bass player so in April of 2003 Jon AKA "Kill Machine" was recruited to produce the end result of three band members.

In 2004 the band managed to get past the demo/EP recording stage and proceeded to release their first full length album (not available in any regular CD retailer) "Invert Absolute" featuring 12 tracks of what they call "extreme metal"

2005 saw the release in November of their next full length album entitled "Advanced Australia Warfare" recorded in MGM Studios with a listing of 10 songs plus a bonus video track of the song "Thrive On War" from album "Invert Absolute".

Also in 2005 The Furor went on tour with death metal band Nile and proceeded to do four concerts as guests with the band in cities and dates of - November 25th, The Gaelic Club Sydney, with death metal band The Amenta - November 26th The Corner Hotel, Melbourne, with death metal band Psycroptic - December 2nd The Uni Bar, Adelaide, with black metal band Omnium and finally - December 3rd, QUT Guild Bar, Brisbane, with Brisbane based black metal band Astriaal.

This year, 2006 during the month of January the band once again went on tour, this time with Polish black metal band Behemoth and death metal band The Amenta and did five concerts - January 6th, Enigma Bar, Adelaide - January 7th, The Esplanade Hotel, Melbourne - January 8th, The Tote, Melbourne - January 13th, Her Majesty's Bar, Brisbane and finally - January 14th, Gaelic Club, Sydney.

These 2 tours were the ones that changed the popularity of the band on a substantial basis causing them to have more album sales Australia wide. Since then, Nick-"Warlock" left the band to pursue other interests and Jon-"Kill Machine" moved to take over lead guitar duties; Daniel-"Kingslayer" (ex-drummer from Secratain and Pestilential Shadows) is the band's new bass guitarist. Recently the trio played at the final Metal For The Brain at The University Of Canberra, on November 4th 2006.
