[edit] Plot
The episode begins when Tim Allen crashes into a tree while skydiving in Drew's backyard. Tim warns John Goodman not to land in the backyard, since Drew and the gang will not help him down from the tree (John Goodman does not appear in the episode although he is referenced to.). At Winfred-Louder, when Mrs. Louder learns that Mr. Bell has had an office romance with Suzie, she orders him to fire her. This infuriates Mr. Bell, and he responds by issuing a memo that threatens to fire any employee in management who is caught having an office romance with another Winfred-Louder employee. This memo puts an ultimatum on Drew and Lisa's secret romance, as Drew could possibly be fired if caught. This risk becomes more real when Mimi vows to catch the two of them together and get Drew fired. Meanwhile, Oswald and Lewis both begin taking "smart pills" as part of a DrugCo research study which only slightly increases their knowledge while causing them to become more forgetful. To allow Drew and Lisa to continue to date, Jay suggests that he and Kate could go on double dates with Drew and Lisa with Jay posing as Lisa's boyfriend. This cover-up soon begins to take its toll on Kate and Jay's relationship, as they never have any time alone since Drew and Lisa always want to see each other. When Mimi runs into the double date at the Warsaw Tavern, she challenges Jay and Lisa to prove that they are involved by kissing. Kate becomes extremely jealous when Lisa kisses Jay, but admits to Lisa later that she is mainly upset about not getting to see her own boyfriend. While Kate and Lisa are discussing the kiss, Drew and Jay almost get into a fight when Drew accuses him of hitting on Lisa. Drew even brings up a similar situation when Jay supposedly took a girl from Drew in junior high. Because of the risk and hassle of the setup, Lisa decides to stop seeing Drew after he refuses to stand up to his boss and take on an undisclosed relationship. At the conclusion of the episode, Tim Allen speaks with John Goodman who landed on Drew's roof.

[edit] Quotes
(after Lewis and Oswald have been taking smart pills with no significant effect)
Oswald: Let's go get some ice cream, my cavity is hurting and neurons are spiking through my cerebral cortex like electrons through a linear accelerator.
Lewis: What'd you say?
Oswald: I said, "C'mon, let's get going."
Lewis: Oh, okay. For a minute there I thought you said something smart. (They start to leave) Hey, are they still using linear accelerators?
Oswald: Actually, most particle accelerator accelerators are circular.
Lewis: Don't you mean "elliptical"?
Oswald: Ah, but aren't all circles ellipses? (they laugh)...where's the car?
(they look around stupidly)
